Cooking and Serving
Last week we spent our lunch hour following a recipe and cooking! We had 15 crockpots to fill with a hearty chicken chili - cans of beans, corn, tomatoes, chilis, cream cheese, and chicken plus some secret spices to make a delicious meal.
After slow cooking all afternoon, we loaded the crockpots and served dinner to families at the Road Home. The kids loved the cookies the best, but the soup warmed them up on a cold night and gave them the nutrition they needed. There was enough extra soup to freeze and reheat for the next week and a new group got the opportunity to experience the joy of serving.
